About Williamson Road Laundromat

A self-serve laundromat at 4206 Williamson Rd NW, serving northwest Roanoke since 2010.

How the store is run

The building has been a laundromat since around 2010 and the footprint hasn’t changed. Almost everything inside has. The machines have been swapped out several times based on how people actually use them. Small machines came out, large ones went in, top-loaders went away entirely, and the number of dryers was set to keep up with the washers.

What we hold to

  • Keep the machines running.A machine gets fixed when it breaks, not when enough of them have broken to justify a service call.
  • Keep it clean.Cleaning shifts run throughout the day, every day.
  • Keep it safe.Bright lighting inside and out, cameras with a live monitor, an alarm system.
  • Buy what people actually use.Machine choices come from how the machines get used, not from what is cheapest to install.
  • Make it right. If a machine takes your money, you get it back.
